The programme

The programme is built around the complete patient journey. Each session examines one critical stage from different perspectives. Because what transforms clinical practice is not simply accumulating more technical knowledge. It is understanding the system as a whole.

A surgeon who understands what happens before the first consultation and after surgery will still operate with the same surgical skill. However, they will make better decisions. The decision to undergo surgery is rarely made inside the consultation room. It comes afterwards. That is where unspoken questions emerge. Where conversations with family happen. Where patients search online. Where excitement and fear constantly compete with one another.

It is precisely at this stage that an exceptional patient coordinator, intelligent follow-up and effective communication can make all the difference. How should a quote be presented? How do you support someone through that decision? How do you create the level of trust they need to move forward?

DECODED explores these pivotal moments. Mastering the operating theatre matters. Understanding everything that happens around it is what can transform the final outcome.

The morning sessions

Professor Planas never believed knowledge should remain behind the doors of the operating theatre. He put it to the test with those he trained because he understood that an idea becomes stronger when it is examined from different perspectives.

That is what the mornings at DECODED are about: one room, every perspective. The stage does not belong to a single expert. It brings together the surgeon, the CEO, the patient coordinator, and the marketing and operations teams. Each arrives with their own unique understanding of the patient journey. Each perspective reveals another part of the picture.

The result is not simply a panel of different voices. It is a live cross-section of the entire clinical business, constructed in real time in front of the audience.

The afternoon sessions

What the morning plenary explores from a wider perspective, the afternoons examine under the scalpel. Two parallel rooms with two different areas of focus and each conversation with the people who understand it best.

Room 1: Live Surgery: clinical technique, in-depth case studies, surgical mastery at its highest level. DECODED does not leave the operating theatre behind. It puts it into context.

Room 2: Workshops and Deep Dive sessions: patient acquisition, first-consultation conversion, patient coordination, post-op care, complications management, reputation, growth. These are sessions where the conversation does not end with applause. It ends with a practical outcome for each attendee. An exercise completed and a problem worked through. A tool, framework or solution attendees can take back to their practice, something they did not have when they walked into the room.

And the rooms are not silos. A surgeon can walk into Room 2. A patient coordinator can step into Room 1. There is no hierarchy between what is learned in each space, because Professor Planas never believed there should be one. He taught a first-year resident with the same generosity as a specialist with decades of experience. What mattered was never where someone started. It was their willingness to learn something they did not yet know.
