The entrepreneur who redefined the aesthetic medicine business in Europe.

A multidisciplinary programme requires someone who understands the industry from every angle: its pressures, its language and its hidden complexities. But also, someone who has not spent their entire career looking at the patient journey from a single perspective. Someone who knows how to ask the right question at the right time.

At DECODED, our Special Guests connect the different perspectives that shape the programme. They bridge what the surgeon explains with what the patient coordinator experiences, what the patient needs and what the clinic manager needs to understand.

They translate without oversimplifying. They challenge without confronting, bringing a unique perspective on business, growth and profitability, because medical excellence needs a sustainable model behind it.

DECODED explores both: how to practise better medicine, and how to build stronger practices around it.

Portrait of Manuel Fernández Navarro

Manuel Fernández Navarro

Manuel Fernández Navarro built Dorsia from the inside, gaining first-hand insight into something very few people in the industry understand with such precision: how to scale an aesthetic medicine model without compromising quality along the way.

Today, he leads Otsu Group, an ecosystem that brings together brands specializing in different areas of healthcare — psychology and psychiatry through Clínicas Origen, a highly accessible hospital model through WM Hospitals, assisted reproduction through Clínicas EVA, and men’s health through The Test.

Along the way, he has developed a perspective on the industry that few others possess: that of an entrepreneur who understands both the consultation room and the balance sheet, the patient experience and the business architecture that makes it possible.

Juan José Chacón Quirós

Juan José Chacón founded Establishment Labs and led the company for twenty years, transforming it into the first Costa Rican company to be listed on the Nasdaq technology exchange.

During that journey, he developed Motiva Implants — the first implantable medical device manufactured in Costa Rica to receive both CE marking and FDA approval — patented SmoothSilk, the first breast implant surface designed to reduce inflammation in the body, and created Mia Femtech, the world’s first minimally invasive breast enhancement system.

Chacón does not speak about innovation as an abstract concept. He speaks about it as the result of understanding a problem better than anyone else — and having the structure and capabilities to solve it.

He is the voice that closes DECODED because he embodies something the congress aims to demonstrate: clinical excellence and business intelligence are not parallel paths. They are one and the same.
